Statue Dedication at Riverbend Park

May 13, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join us at Riverbend Park in Mount Vernon, IN, Saturday, May 13th! We will be dedicating a statue of a little boy in the park as a ceremonial beginning of summer. The statue will be placed next to the statue of a little girl, denoting the area as a playground for children.

The ceremony will begin at 11:00 AM. Help us celebrate this new addition to Riverbend park and the continuing improvement of our community. Many families enjoy the park all year, and this statue will help complete the recreational area.

The statue was donated by the Mount Vernon Garden Club and the Azalea Trail Committee. Mayor Bill Curtis and committee members of the donating organizations will be present. Thank you to everyone involved with this project, and we hope to see you all at the ceremony!

Within the last few years, Riverbend Park has undergone extensive renovations, truly making it a popular location for local citizens to enjoy. The park currently includes a child’s playground, waterfront view of the river, amphitheater, boat ramp, botanical garden, and plenty of outdoor space for family dining.

Learn more about Riverbend Park and the Mount Vernon Parks and Recreation Department on their Facebook page. The park is open 6AM-11PM daily.
