Wonderful Options for Daycare & Early Childhood Education

Finding the right daycare or preschool for your family can be difficult. It can be stressful to search for the best care and early education for your children. One of the best features of Mount Vernon is that you’ll meet so many families open to sharing their best advice! And while we at Greater Mount Vernon Association are not endorsing any specific providers, we’ve compiled a list of some options available in the Mount Vernon area.

Children’s Learning Center of Posey County

The Children’s Learning Center of Posey County is a non-profit organization striving to provide quality childcare for families in need of full-time care. They are able to provide care because of their volunteers, as well as surrounding businesses, private individuals and community organizations providing funding. They are a licensed facility, with ability to care for up to 160 kids, ranging in ages from infant to 12 years of age. Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), they are open Monday – Friday 6AM to 6PM. For more information on this facility, please click this link.

The Children’s White House Learning Center & Daycare, LLC

The Children’s White House Learning Center & Daycare is another option for working families. They are also a state licensed facility, providing quality, trustworthy childcare. Their facility has a total capacity of 52 children, ranging in age from infant to 12 years of age.

Along with providing full-time daycare, this facility also offers a full service learning center for children between the ages of 3 – 5 years old. Their hours of operation are Monday – Friday 6 AM to 6 PM. To learn more about their Daycare & Preschool/PreK program, click the link.

St. Matthew Child Care Ministry

St. Matthew Child Care Ministry offers Preschool/PreK instruction in a multi-aged setting for children three to five years of age. Their hours are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with classes beginning at 8:00 AM and ending at 11:00 AM. The Child Care Ministry participates in an accreditation program called Paths to Quality, which monitors programming for early childhood education. Susanna Wesley Nursery School

Susanna Wesley Nursery School has a variety of educational options for children ages 2-5. They offer Preschool/PreK programs. Their hours of operation are Monday – Friday– offering morning sessions, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM and 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, depending on your child’s age.
